Put Away the ‘Pence 2010’ Signs . . . and Prepare the ‘Pence 2012’ Signs?
RedState reports Mike Pence is not going to run for Senate.
Apparently he’s also thinking of a 2012 bid.
This is somewhat frustrating for conservatives, as Pence was a true star and had the best shot of knocking off Sen. Evan Bayh in Indiana. But he’s not the only shot; John Hostettler is within 3 percentage points of Bayh in Rasmussen.
As for a presidential bid, it’s a long way off. Among current GOP members of the House, Pence is probably one of the strongest potential candidates, but that’s still grading on a curve. Republican presidential primaries haven’t been too kind to House members in recent cycles: John Kasich, Ron Paul, Bob Dornan, Jack Kemp . . .
