Beware the Reverse Pauline Kael Effect


From a reader, a warning of a malady I’ve probably succumbed to from time to time:

One thing I warn my friends about is the Reverse Pauline Kael Effect:  We tend to hang out with fellow outraged conservatives, so we assume that everyone is outraged.  I think the GOP will do well this November, but, unfortunately, I don’t know if it will be as good as folks on our side think.
