I want William Ayers’s FBI “Wanted” poster in every ad this election cycle.
Les Phillip is running against Parker Griffith, who was elected as a Democrat in 2008 and who switched to the Republican party in December. Since the local Republicans aren’t warming up to him quite as fast as he would like, Griffith aims to avoid a runoff. Alabama’s primary is June 1.
I love this ad. My only hesitation is abandoning Griffith.
A party should generally try to encourage the other team's guys to switch sides; it's demoralizing to them and makes for a good narrative for us.
I'm not saying Griffith is entitled to the seat forever; just that it's better to encourage, rather than discourage, party switching by the supporting the new guy.
I'm all for recruiting switchers but you can never guarantee a seat for anyone. If he can't win his primary then why believe he'll be a good general candidate. Just look at what happened with the endorsements of Spector, Crist, etc.
I always want to best candidates to win the primaries but with the MSM and Democrats identity politics, a black republican from Alabama certainly undercuts that greatly.
