Jeb Bush: Give Marco Rubio a Chance

When he met with National Review editors this summer, Marco Rubio, former speaker of the Florida House and NR cover-article subject, mentioned that he considered former Florida governor Jeb Bush his mentor. But in a race between Rubio and current governor Charlie Crist, an endorsement wasn’t guaranteed.

Today Bush didn’t quite endorse Rubio, but he indicated that the National Republican Senatorial Committee should not have endorsed Crist as early as they did: “I think [Rubio] should be given a chance. I think that the idea that the national party would pick a winner a year and a half before an election is the wrong way to go.”
