“Florio-esque” Is Not a Compliment in New Jersey

I still remember the bumper stickers, “Florio-Free in ‘93.”

The Save Jersey Blog notes that the current New Jersey governor, Democrat Jon Corzine, is actually less popular than Jim Florio was at this point in his 1993 gubernatorial race against Christie Whitman.

At this point in 1993, Florio was leading Whitman by 9 percent; Corzine trails Republican Chris Christie by 10 in Quinnpiac’s latest.
