The NRO Comments Policy
Comments on National Review Online are monitored. Reasons a comment may be considered unacceptable for publication include: the use of profane and inappropriate language, a general lack of courteousness, spamming, and self-promotion.
Commenters who over time prove trustworthy and considerate may be invited to post directly to the website. This is an invitation-only process. If a commenter is approved by NRO, a star (
) will appear alongside his or her comments.
Comments that are deemed inappropriate will not be published on NRO. Commenters who submit inappropriate material will not (in most cases) be informed that their comments have been blocked from publication. Commenters who submit inappropriate material may be banned without warning from commenting on NRO. Approved NRO commenters who post inappropriate content also may be banned without warning from commenting on NRO.
NRO editors reserve the right to remove any comment that has been published.
National Review and National Review Online accept no responsibility for the content of the comments that are posted on NRO. The views expressed in comments appearing on NRO are not in any way attributable the editors of and contributors to National Review or National Review Online.
