ndependent Counsel Robert Ray did a great disservice to the rule of law today when he entered into

a plea agreement with Bill Clinton without first even charging him for his offenses — perjury, obstruction, and conspiracy.

Under the plea agreement, Clinton settles his disbarment case by agreeing to suspend his license for five years. Since he doesn't practice law, and hasn't for nearly two decades, this is meaningless. Clinton agrees further to pay $25,000 for the cost of the disbarment proceedings.

When was the last time — indeed, the first time — Clinton paid any legal bill out of his own pocket?
When was the last time Clinton paid any legal bill out of his own pocket?
And, finally, Clinton acknowledges what is already an indisputable fact, i.e., that he's a liar. Of course, no sooner had Ray released a statement of Clinton's official confession, the White House released its own version in which Clinton is portrayed as a statesman making a great personal sacrifice for the good of the country.

The way I see it, Clinton is still a fugitive from justice.
