Hawaiian Schools Decision

Text

A panel of the Ninth Circuit today ruled 2-1 in Doe v. Kamehameha Schools that the ban on the admission of students who lack any aboriginal blood violates a federal civil rights law, 42 U.S.C. section 1981. It’s very likely that the defendants will ask the full Ninth Circuit to reverse this decision.
