The Corner

The one and only.

Senator Feinstein

Wouldn’t be surprised to see her trying to drown a fish either, Jonah. For most of her questions, she seemed completely uninterested in Roberts’s answers, sometimes beginning to ask the next question even as he was just finishing an answer. Does she feel that her question alone gives her enough of a sound bite, or does she realize she would be foolish to try to dispute what he’s saying? Oh, and her statement that there have been three dozen Supreme Court cases in recent years involving federal statutes struck down by the Commerce Clause can’t possibly be right; Roberts seemed to be aware of only two (Lopez and Morrison), and I can’t think of any others either.
