Subject: Miers Speech

Read this passage from one of your posts on the Corner. I am assuming I read correctly and this is in fact a part of a speech by Harriet Miers.

At some point we need to let our elected officials know that their inability to solve problems in such a way that a court could not step in is unacceptable political leadership. And political leaders have to start showing more leadership and willingness to make unpopular decisions.

I said “read correctly” because at first glance this reminded me of something I would read from any number of students of mine…all freshmen in college.
