The Corner

The one and only.

Point, Counterpoint

Stalinist hero George “Moonbat” Monbiot perceives the freedom brought by automobiles. He wants it stopped. Meanwhile, residents in Loudoun County, just outside DC, are using their cars to enhance their freedom to live where they want to, never mind the state of the roads.

I wonder if Mr Monbiot knows about the role the automobile played in the Montgomery, Alabama, bus boycott following Rosa Parks’ actions? The protestors organized “private taxi” services to get black boycotters to work. Perhaps Mr Monbiot might like to call up the surviving organizers and call them “antisocial bastards” too.
