The Corner

The one and only.

“Sur-Up” and Not “Seer-Up”

Okay, this one has spawned a few squabbles around the kitchen table.
I say “seer-up” and have taken some abuse for it from The Children’s
Mother, who believe me, has also never set foot in the Grand Ole Opry.
A) Which is it? and B) Is there some kind of regional divide for the
pronounciation? I am from the Northeast, but she is from NorCal.
(Next week: Ahr-ange v. Ohr-range.)
