Another Administration Good Deed

Of a piece with the administration’s decision to do the right thing on the Native Hawaiian bill is its announcement yesterday of the creation of a “Task Force on New Americans.” Conservatives can differ over how many immigrants ought to be admitted each year, but we should all agree that more attention needs to be given to assimilating however many are admitted.  Sen. Alexander, a hero in opposing the Akaka bill, has also spoken eloquently in recent weeks on this point, and the President’s new task force is likewise praiseworthy.
