Going Beltway

I know the answer to every question with me is Rick Santorum.

Just that. I know it.

I’m with RP on congressional living.

Santorum got a lot of grief for settling his kids in Virginia. And he shouldn’t have. What he did made sense.

The taboo against settling your family for a bit in D.C. ought to be gone. If you have a young family it only makes sense to want them to move with you — if you’re a congressman who’s term limited himself that’s a different thing (but how many stay for as few as two years?). But in general, six years is a lot of years in a kid’s life. For the elected official, being congressman/senator is his job, there in D.C….so let him (or her) live sanely. That’s family friendly.
