For Opera Fans

This little video clip from BBC News is precious.  Opera superstar Roberto Alagna was booed on Saturday by the loggionisti (highly opera-knowledgeable and -critical occupants of the cheap seats in the loge).  Annoyed, Alagna walked off the stage.

His understudy came in in street clothes–jeans and black club jacket–to finish the scene.  This was Aida, one of the most costume-y of all operas.  I must say, the understudy seemed to carry it off very well, given that he had only seconds to prepare.  He carries off the post-opera interview very well, too.  This guy’s a pro.
