The Corner

The one and only.

Althouse V. Bailey

For those of you interested in the recent sundry brouhahas resulting from that Liberty Fund conference I attended and my subsequent back-and-forths with Ann Althouse, this is probably must-reading. It is by my friend Ronald Bailey. I have nothing to add to Ron’s version of events and conclusions (which I have now heard from two sources). They speak for themselves. Though I should say that while Ron and I have many serious ideological differences,  my faith in Ron’s honesty and good faith is unshakable. All I will add for now is that I had no idea about the events around the dinner table — when Althouse accused fellow conferees of racism — when I participated in my bloggingheads conversation with her or when I called her original blog post “odd.” I would have used a different adjective.
