Could Russia Be Any More Helpful?

This is really too rich for commentary:

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov called on the United States to be as “flexible” with Iran on its nuclear program as it had been with North Korea, Russian news agencies reported Wednesday.
Not self-evidently a recipe for success — but you have to appreciate their conscientiousness in suggesting ways to solve the problems they create.

There used to be a saying among diplomats — “Russia is never as strong as she looks; Russia is never as weak as she looks.”  I propose this corollary: “Russia is never as dumb as she looks; Russia is never as smart as she looks.”
