John Miller is right. Over at phi beta cons, Miller comments on one of the worst pieces of legislation I have ever heard of.
Professorial bias is real, but this bill is not the way to fight it. This bill is censorship, pure and simple. The most that can be said in extenuation of this proposal is that the legislators in question may be relatively unfamiliar with the issues and principles at stake, and are therefore making clumsy but ill-advised efforts to grapple with a genuine problem. In any case, this bill a terrible idea and ought to be quickly consigned to the circular file. Ah, and I see that David French over at phi beta cons now has a very interesting comment on John’s post.
