The one and only.

“The Time for a Pardon Is Now.”

That’s how the Journal editorializes. A lot of Republicans seem to be nervous about a pre-2008 election pardon, and John Podhoretz argues (in an otherwise excellent column) that as the leader of his party President Bush should wait until his last days in office to issue a pardon. I think Bush could pardon Libby tomorrow without its affecting the election one way or the other. I was just talking about this question to a member of Congress who had a tough race last year. If Bush pardoned Libby today, said the congressman, I wouldn’t get a question about it from a voter in my district this weekend.
