America at a (Yawn) Crossroads

A reader writes:

I hope you are not still hyped about the PBS “America at a Crossroads”
series.  I watched three episodes and gave up.  It’s not only crummy and
mealy-mouthed, but Robert MacNeil’s post-film correctives — lest anyone
get the “wrong” ideas about anything — are unbearable.  I’m sure the
initial concept was a good one, but as with most things, the
fifth-columnists in the PBS inner sanctum have managed to screw it up.

      I agree. Big disappointment.
