New Mood?

NRO’s fascinating symposium on the O’Hanlon-Pollack piece raises questions about a possible change of mood and rhetoric on Iraq. I’d say one of the best places to find answers to those questions is over at The New Republic. TNR is the traditional home of the Democratic hawk. That may have changed a bit, yet my sense is that TNR’s soul remains divided on these issues. That makes TNR a bellwether of any potential new mood on the surge. So have a look at this entry from Jonathan Chait over at The Plank, and this one from Bradford Plumer. New mood on Iraq? Not exactly. But Chait’s post does at least leave some room for the possibility.
