I know John and I disagree. Unlike the others, Giuliani’s conservative attributes are well-known and for months he has been touted as the one best suited to take on Hillary. His obvious talents as a candidate will be on display again tonight at the GOP debate. The resistance to his candidacy is significant. I don’t think the typical Republican knows much at all about the former Massachusetts governor. Polling in the early states indicates that Romney’s retail campaigning has met with real success. Their up-close look puts them at odds with his standing in national polls, but is some indication of an ability to persuade. It seems to me that abortion, amnesty, and adultery limit that ability.
