Based on all the commentary surrounding the Goldsmith book (I haven’t read it either), I have a different question about this: Whatever ever happened to attorney-client privilege and confidentiality?  Even government lawyers are bound by these basic legal requirements, barring relevant exceptions that would not apply here.  Also, there are thousands of attorneys advising scores of agencies and departments on all kinds of issues related to national security and the war.  Goldsmith is merely one voice.  He may be intriguing, but he’s still one voice.  As for Jeffrey Rosen, I find his writing to be reliably liberal and repetitive.
