As Jonah pointed out, claiming that women are afraid to get into politics because men might “gang up” on them in an argument doesn’t advance the equality agenda. There is also no evidence that the claim is true. But it does reflect the victimhood card that characterizes the modern women’s movement. Gail Collins sounds the same lament today: “Hillary Clinton stood on a stage for two hours Tuesday night, being yelled at by six men. Now this is what they mean by pressure.” Oh, really? If I had to bet on who would fold first, my money would be on some poor man being yelled at by six women.
