Apropos of the peace conference in Annapolis this week, David Frum has an excellent column detailing the latest developments in the story of Muhammad al-Dura, the 12-year-old Palestinian boy supposedly shot by Israeli soldiers. His death has become one of the iconic images of Israeli brutality and has circulated widely. My column on the use to which it has been put by Islamists (including those who beheaded Daniel Pearl) is here. There is now a libel case. The French newsman who first broadcast the story is suing his critics (who maintain that the entire thing was staged). For a complete timeline of the story and analysis, look here.
