The Federal Election Commission Mess

Good editorial today in the Wall Street Journal on the mess at the Federal Election Commission.  The Commission may be shutting down because it lacks a quorum of commissioners, the result of a deadlock over the Bush administration’s renomination of Hans von Spakovsky.  As the Journal points out, the Left is quite hysterical about Spakovsky—not because of anything he has done as Commissioner, but because of his tenure at the Justice Department’s civil rights division.  While there, he committed the unpardonable sin of standing up to the career bureaucrats when they wanted to ignore the law in favor of political correctness (and the Democratic Party).
