Robert E. Lee was not the only cadet ever to go four years without a demerit at West Point. In fact there were quite a few, including Charles Mason, the person who graduated ahead of Lee on the Class of 1829. With respect to Patton, his class rank does not also reflect that he had to repeat a year because he flunked math.
