Charging Into Other Countries

Below, Victor Davis Hanson notes Obama’s Pavlovian tendencies to blame America first and  draw moral equivalencies between the U.S. and despotic regimes.  Obama did it again yesterday declaring

We’ve got to send a clear message to Russia and unify our allies. They [Russia] can’t charge into other countries. Of course it helps if we are leading by example on that point.
Oh dear. America has been just awful on that score. We’ve charged into a heck of a lot of countries over the years. Sen.. Obama, which of the following examples meets with your approval?
  • Chateau-Thierry
  • Operation Torch
  • Operation Husky
  • Normandy
  • Leyte
  • Inchon
  • Ia Drang
  • Grenada
  • Desert Storm
  •  Iraqi Freedom
Obama is fond of making the kind of pronouncements likely to be overheard in Ivy League coffee shops–by freshmen just as historically literate and impressed with themselves as the former Editor-in-Chief of the Harvard Law Review.   BTW Senator, precisely what message do you think you’re sending to Russia?
