Did Saul Alinsky orchestrate Obama convention?
Saul Alinsky, who wrote the official handbook on radical organizing and rabble rousing, as practiced by generations of radical activists, has become a big name again, now that we have our first professional “community organizer” presidential nominee. Now comes his son David, writing to the Boston Globe to credit dad for the fabulously well-orchestrated Democratic convention in Denver. David points out that Barack Obama’s Democrats follow his father’s program to the letter:
“ALL THE elements were present: the individual stories told by real people of their situations and hardships, the packed-to-the rafters crowd, the crowd’s chanting of key phrases and names, the action on the spot of texting and phoning to show instant support and commitment to jump into the political battle, the rallying selections of music, the setting of the agenda …”
And I thought that Hollywood got the credit. Time for the McCain campaign to read the book. Better yet, don’t.
