Sullivan’s Descent

by Jonathan H. Adler

For some reason I popped over to the Daily Dish to check out Andrew Sullivan’s response to the speech, and he’s outdone himself.  Now he’s complaining about Gov. Palin’s facial expressions, the fidgeting of her youngest daughter, and the fact that more than one member of the Palin family has held infant Trig — as if this was some sort of staged display.  Sullivan’s obviously never had to sit somewhere for several hours with an infant in his arm, or he’d understand, and he’s still harping on the need to ask questions about Trig’s provenance.

I still remember how impressive I found Sullivan to be when I first met him nearly 20 years ago, and it’s hard for me to believe that this commentary is coming from the same man.
