I agree with you: that last paragraph makes absolutely no sense to me whatever.  At a minimum, it seems like the kind of sweeping, counterintuitive assertion for which Goldstein should provide some support.

In spite of Watson’s prediction, I am open-minded about whether or not ”key genes affecting differences in human intelligence” will be found within 10 – 15 years.  The process of future scientific discovery is hard for even the greatest scientists to predict accurately.
