At this point, there is no point in making predictions. What will be, will be. But the sage words of former Red Sox GM Lou Gorman come to mind this morning. When a young (and perhaps pre-HGH) Roger Clemens walked out of spring training in a contract dispute, the sky seemed to be falling, at least among Boston sportswriters. Gorman was asked what might happen if Gorman failed to reach terms with Clemens, the ace of his staff. Gorman’s response, perhaps semi-apocryphal, seems to be appropriate if things don’t work out today: “The sun will rise, the sun will set, and I’ll have lunch.”
The one and only.
