Random Thoughts from Georgetown Last Night

There’s a great photo of Presidents Bush (I), Reagan, Carter, Ford, and Nixon hanging in Nathan’s in Georgetown. Tourists passed it while I was there last night — the type of tourists who seem to simply love the romance and history of D.C. that everyone who works here should. One of the men in the two couples said, nostalgically: “Look at Ronnie. He’s laughing! He was always laughing or smiling. He loved life.”

I like that guy.

Of course, sitting across from me, there was Palin-bashing from D.C.ers. A table next to me ranted about that “moron” president of ours. They seemed more Georgetown.
