Tough Choices


Time editor Richard Stengel appeared on the Today show this morning to announce the magazine’s decision to name Barack Obama person of the year.  Everybody seemed to think it was a pretty obvious call, but Stengel explained that Time considered other choices:

We thought about possibly giving it to the American voter for electing Barack Obama, for the economy, for tipping the scales in his favor.  But ultimately, he is the quintessential person of the year.
