Chrysler to idle all of its assembly lines for at least a month. Strikes me as prudent. Last I read, the company was sitting on something like 12,000 vehicles that its dealerships didn’t want.

Surveys find that the public would still buy cars from a company in Chapter 11. That takes away one of the automakers’ strongest arguments for why Washington should help them avoid Chapter 11.
