CongressDailyAM reports that House Republicans have formed a task force “with a mission of finding ways to increase access to health care without moving toward a government-run system.”
Rep. Roy Blunt (MO) will head the task force. According to CNS News, “Other members of the task force include: Reps. Joe Barton (R-Texas), Judy Biggert (R-Ill.), Charles Boustany (R-La.), Ginny Brown-Waite (R-Fla.), Michael Burgess (R-Texas), Dave Camp (R-Mich.), Nathan Deal (R-Ga.), Phil Gingrey (R-Ga.), Wally Herger (R-Calif.), Lynn Jenkins (R-Kan.), Howard ‘Buck’ McKeon (R-Calif.), Tim Murphy (R-Pa.), Tom Price (R-Ga.), Paul Ryan (R-Wis.), and John Shadegg (R-Ariz.).”
The task force members should remember – should be reminded – that some “government-run systems” are run through the private sector.
A good rule is that socialized medicine exists to the extent that government controls medical resources and socializes the costs.
