Re: The Subprime Gene



For reasons that I tried to review in NRODT at length last year, that article is unintentionally amusing, but also indicative of a dangerous trend. 

As I wrote, the attempt to assert that normal human mental states are driven in a scientifically comprehended manner by genetics is very likely to combine with a governing liberal coalition to lead to a very unattractive outcome:

If conservatives accede to the growing acceptance of an incorrect view of the scientific predictability of human behavior today, it’s not at all certain that they will control the policies that emerge as a result. It is impossible to know what specific policies might be established, but I speculate that they would likely relax the notion of personal responsibility: replacing justice with therapy, introducing greater paternalism, and so on.
