GOP Senators Holding Up Against Omnibus Bill . . . So Far.
The good news is that the Democrats haven’t gathered up the 60 votes they need to pass the omnibus bill yet. They need to secure the support of six GOP votes. They have the three votes from committee members Thad Cochran (R., Miss.) and Richard Shelby (R., Ala.), along with Olympia Snowe (R., Maine), who is not on the committee.
According to Fox News, “Among the targeted committee Republicans: Sens. Arlen Specter (R., Pa.), Lamar Alexander (R., Tenn.), Bob Bennett (R., Utah), Lisa Murkowski (R., Alaska), and Kit Bond (R., Mo.).”
