Guess How the French Deal with the Economic Downturn?

Text

Le strike.

They strike. According to the Washington Post, “By midday, tens of thousands of protesters were marching in the streets of Marseille and Lyon, both of which have been hard hit by the world economic downturn. More than 200 protest marches are planned around the country, the biggest of which is expected in Paris.”

I hope that President Sarkozy sticks to his plan to do nothing. Yesterday “he told ministers at a Cabinet meeting that he “understood the worries of the French,” but said he had no plans for additional measures.” Also, let’s hope Obama and his team of bureaucrats won’t succeed in forcing Sarko and other European leaders during the G20 meeting to spend more to stimulate the economy.
