“Never Again”

Mark — Amen. He totally buys the “therapeutic” approach to combating evil. That’s why that weird paragraph begins by invoking “our fellow citizens of the world.” Still and all, even some of our fellow citizens in Europe might remember that the Holocaust only ended when armies marched across the Reich. And that without American armies said fellow citizens would be speaking German. Or Russian.

As for those hopeful cases, Darfur rages on (and nobody shows the slightest sign of being willing to do anything effective to stop it), Hutus and Tutsis are in an uneasy truce, and Northern Ireland calmed down because the Brits beat the terrorists. For a while, anyway.
