Lockerbie Bomber’s Release

British foreign secretary David Miliband is quite defensive about the decision to release Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed al-Megrahi on compassionate grounds. Miliband’s frustration with the press and families of the victims is understandable. After all, the bombing only killed 270 people, and Megrahi served 3123 days for the crime. Shouldn’t the families be satisfied that he served a total of eleven and a half days for each one of the people he murdered?
