A reader just wrote me to let me know that a new book titled The Complete Infidel’s Guide to the Koran quotes me as praising the Koran. I checked out a preview of the book on Amazon, and the author says the following: “It’s hard to imagine that Blair, Bush, and Potemra are reading the same book as that read by Wilders, Fallaci, and Khomeini.” I get the distinct feeling the author doesn’t mean this as a compliment, but, boy, am I thrilled by the company. (Analogies tumble out in a flood: “Talentless daubers like Leonardo, Michelangelo, and Potemra.” “Overrated forwards like Gretzky, Howe, and Potemra.” “Clumsy poetasters like Keats, Eliot, and Potemra.”)
Bye-bye for now! I’m off for a weekend of Koran-reading with Bush and Blair.
