The Washington Post is reporting that Deputy Attorney General David Ogden (not to be confused with this guy) is resigning to return to private practice after less than nine months on the job. Ogden was a target of conservatives in his confirmation hearings, given long history of litigating for leftist causes (pornography, abortion, you name it). But he’s had a relatively low-profile role in his short tenure at DoJ. There’s usually a backstory on such brief tenures, and the Post is suggesting some tension between Ogden (who has no criminal practice experience to speak of) and AG Holder, a career criminal lawyer (but not necessarily lawyer criminal).
The one and only.
