American Muslims Arrested in Pakistan

Five American Muslims from the D.C. metropolitan area have been arrested in Pakistan for possible links to terrorism.

The men were taken into custody at the home of a man with ties to Jaish-e-Mohammed, the jihadist group that is suspected to be behind the murder of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl in 2002. One of the Americans apparently left behind what one Muslim leader called a “farewell statement” in the form of a video that quoted the Koran and showed American war casualties.

The arrests came after the men — all between 19 and 25 — were reported missing by their families in Northern Virginia. Family members of the man in the farewell video apparently contacted the FBI after viewing its content
