A friend writes on the latest from Copenhagen:

Rich:  In U.N.-speak, “take note” means simply to acknowledge reality, as in “we take not that some say X and some say Y. In any number of U.N. resolutions, this is a form of words used to avoid saying “affirms,” “endorses,” “accepts,” “supports,” “adopts,” “approves,” or something similar. “Take note” is a nothing burger.
