The Battle in the House

A Hill vet is giving conservatives some reason for procedural optimism, sharing this advice through a proxy: “Don’t believe Sen. Conrad when he says the senate can’t have any changes. He knows the Senate bill has huge problems in the House.” There is the abortion language Bart Stupak is vowing to fight (and NOW is at least making noise about). There is the lack of the public option that has the Left making noise.  And, he adds: “the tax on insurance plans affects union plans — the core strength of Nancy Pelosi, Charlie Rangel, George Miller, and Henry Waxman.”

It’s a dismaying, infuriating scene on the Hill this week. But it’s not over.
