The Federalist Society vs. the ACS

Text

For anyone who wants to know the difference between the Federalist Society and the American Constitution Society (the copycat organization set up by the Left to try to compete with the Federalists), last week’s ACS convention provides a prime demonstration.

At annual Federalist Society conventions, members have gotten advice on constitutional doctrine and judicial issues from such luminaries as solicitors general Ted Olson and Paul Clement; attorneys general Michael Mukasey and Edwin Meese; and justices Thomas, Scalia, and Alito.

At the gala dinner at the ACS convention last Thursday, members received con-law advice from former Saturday Night Live comedian Al Franken, who attacked the Court for its supposedly “distorted” constitutional doctrine.
