Gutting the Military

by Michael Ledeen

You knew it was happening, didn’t you?

In the fight over defense spending, the first round has been fought between Congress and the Pentagon. Congress won by a knockout.

So says Chet Nagle, who knows what he’s talking about. Cuts to the tune of more than a trillion dollars over ten years, Marines cut by 30 percent, all nuclear bombers eliminated, etc. etc. It’s Jimmy Carter redux. So much for “Obama is continuing Bush’s national-security policy.”
