Can you stand one more tidbit on Ann Arbor? We have a reader whose in-laws live there, and fit right in — except for one: who has a button that says, “Obama Economics: Trickle-Up Poverty.”

Whoa, mama! Does this dear lady wear it around town? If so, she’ll need Kevlar underneath it. But then, Ann Arbor is anti-gun, so . . . Maybe she’ll just need the hide of an elephant — the Republican elephant, of course.

P.S. When I interviewed Michael Steele in 2005, I asked him about the abuse he took — especially on race, from liberals. He said that his skin was not only black but thick. “I’m not an elephant for nothing.” Marvelous remark. I can’t wait till he gets his groove back, which I think will be soon. It’s been a rough chairmanship for him. He has a lot more to do — a lot of good to accomplish — in his career.
