I basically agree with Jonah on the Koran-burning thing, though there’s no question a double standard exists that benefits Islam. But the thing that really creeps me out is the very idea of book burning. Obviously, books are physical objects and many have been and will continue to have to be destroyed and disposed of. But a staged book-burning — whether Mein Kampf or The Communist Manifesto or the Koran — is an assault on civilization, whatever the likely reaction of the locals in Berzerkistan.
